Survivors

Survivors is a new drama/thriller on BBC1. The plot line is that 90% of the worlds population has been wiped out by a flu virus and there is only a small congregation of people left to forage for themselves. There is little gore it is mainly based around how hard life is for people when a disaster such as this occurs and conflicts between different types of people and how the react in this situation. It features brilliant camera angles which cause the correct feeling in each situation, most of which could be highly influential on out thriller opening as both are modern and in a way phsycological.

Tendency to generalise and not analyse key elements of mise-en-scene.

Overall you have identified and done some analysis of researched texts but you need to develop your ideas and link them to 4 key concepts.
Overall basic understanding with some proficient analysis.

Steven you have referenced 4 texts as advised in the booklet but your analysis does not go into enough detail on the purpose and effect of key elements of mise-en-scene. You need to explain precisely how aspects of lighting, or costume, or camera angles, or the position of character or objects influence the mood and heighten the action.

Basic analysis throughout. Steven you need to have learned from the mistakes you made in the mock examination and from the detailed notes that I gave you in class.

Overall Steven's enthusiasm and references to how reserched texts inform planning places this at a low level 3.
